Prague
It has been quite a long time since Prague was built. During such a long time, Prague was given different names, a lot of which are used even today. “The middle of the middle” – that is how we could call it, because it really lies in the imaginary middle of the European continent. Other names for Prague, that are used as well are “The Hundred-Towered”, “The Golden”, “The Mother of Cities”. The names itself can perfectly tell how they were created.
The Golden Prague – the Hundred-Towered - the Mother of Cities
“The Golden Prague” meant richness and it was really true. Prague really became a rich place where businessmen from many nations used to meet. “The Hundred-Towered”? Just look at the city from the bird’s eye view. You would not see anything else than hundreds of small towers that aim up and threaten to whoever gets closer. “The Mother of Cities”, mother in the meaning of the oldest city, the most beautiful city, or the richest city.
Prague - example for other cities
For a very long time, other cities had been taking advantage of the Prague’s plentiful experience (instead of Prague itself, of course). However, Prague was not angry about that and, on the contrary, it took care of those cities, giving them instructions and served as an example of how the things should be done properly so as those cities would not repeat mistakes Prague was not able to overcome at the times it itself had been dealing with such problems.
